Person in Charge of Works for developing tree care

A vacancy has arisen for a motivated and ambitious individual to join a leading company in the forest products industry.   Above all, we are seeking a person with enthusiasm and the drive to succeed.

 

The Role

Person in Charge of Works (PICW) for the developing tree care business line of the company.  

The successful candidate will be expected to integrate with the present workforce, working with existing clients but also trying to add to our client base.

Responsibilities will include:

• Providing the team with the strategic and operational direction needed

• Site inspections  

• Main point of contact for the client, direct staff, and subcontractors

• Delivering fit for purpose project outputs within set deadlines

• Ensure contracts progress on track and on budget

• Undertake regular safety audits

• Produce risk assessments and method statements

Essential

• A strong background in arboriculture with proven experience in contract management

• A relevant qualification in an arboriculture discipline

• Proven experience of line management / leadership

• Motivated and highly organised, agile and adaptable to change

• An ability to work on own initiative

• Excellent planning and project management abilities

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Full driving licence

• Excellent IT skills

• Ability to exercise good judgment with minimal supervision

• Good communication skills and the ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with clients and stakeholders

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desirable

• A knowledge of all Forest Service forestry schemes

• A knowledge or experience of harvesting and marketing of timber

Remuneration

Salary commensurate with experience, plus phone, laptop and transport.
