Due to Euroforest Ireland’s continued growth, we have a vacancy in the following role:
· Licencing Forester (Nationwide)
We arelooking for a committed worker with a keen interest in forestry
LicencingForester Responsibilities will include:
· Felling licence, forest road,woodland improvement, Ash RUS applications
· SiteInspection for mapping purposes
· Coordinatingprojects with our team of harvesting Foresters and liaising with externalconsultants such as Ecologists and Engineers.
· Undertakingbackground research, desk studies and ecological fieldwork and impactassessment reporting, to best-practice guidelines and methodologies.
· Advising owners on best forestpractice and maximising financial returns, particularly in relation toharvesting and managing semi mature plantations.
· Deliveringfit for purpose project outputs within set deadlines
Essential
· A strong appreciation ofcommercial forestry
· Motivated and highly organised,agile and adaptable to change
· An ability to work on own initiative
· Competence in GIS
· Excellent planning and projectmanagement abilities
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Full driving licence
· Excellent IT skills
· Ability to exercise good judgment with minimal supervision
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·
Desirable
· A recognised qualification in forestry at level 7/8 on the QQI Framework of qualifications or equivalent
· A knowledge of all ForestService forestry schemes
· A knowledge of all paperworkassociated with the Department for Landowners
· A knowledge or experience ofharvesting and marketing of timber
Remuneration
Salarycommensurate with experience, plus phone, laptop and transport.
