The Native Tree Area Scheme

There is huge interest in the Native Tree Area Scheme from both farmers and other landowners.  The scheme is available to both farmers and non-farmers and provides for an annual income of €2,284 per hectare for 10 years along with a grant to cover the cost of establishing the Native Tree Area.

Many want to plant the trees and look after the woodland themselves.  To cater for this, we are producing a series of Native Tree Area advisory videos showing landowners how to plant and successfully maintain these new Native forests into the future.

This is the first video in our series, and we hope you enjoy it and find it informative. Please see www.forestryservices.ie for more information
